Newborn Hayden {Cedar Park Baby Photographer}

Yesterday I was able to photograph teeny tiny newborn Hayden.  Such a little doll!  I loved his little newborn wrinkles and scrunchy faces.  These were taken in the late afternoon, so we were fighting the fleeting natural light as it got later.

Lovely Family {Cedar Park Family Photographer}

I got the opportunity to take some pictures of one of my favorite families yesterday morning.  They have 3 of the most photogenic kids on earth (which isn’t shocking because I’ve been saying that about mom for years), so it made my job really easy.  I couldn’t wait to get home and start sorting through them.  I had a really hard time picking my favorite of big sister, but I think this one captures her personality.Allison Mills Photography, Cedar Park Family Photographer, Cedar Park Family Photography, Cedar Park, Cedar Park Child Photography, Cedar Park Child Photographer, Child Photographer, Child Photography, Family Photographer, Family PhotographyAnd big brother is just so darn handsome…Gilgers I love baby sister’s expression in this one…GilgersBaby sister was stingy with the smiles that morning, but we caught a few…Gilgers Gilgers Beautiful mom and baby…Gilgers And just for fun 🙂 Gilgers

Sweet at Seven

My oldest daughter is nearing the end of 2nd grade.  Sometimes when we’re having a really great time together, I can’t help but feel sad that we might be nearing the end of the sweetness of childhood.  We’re already experiencing glimpses of the attitude that comes with most “tween” aged girls and I’m trying to hold onto the sweetness of now for as long as I can!  Today, was a lazy day and both her and I were a little bored.  So I asked if she wanted to go take some pictures and she very sweetly accepted.

Beautiful Accidents

I switched out the lens on my camera.  I hadn’t used this particular lens in over a year, and I just wanted to snap a test shot or two.  I asked my daughter to “say cheese”, but she’s a toddler and I could have just as easily asked her to dance a jig and gotten the same result. She looked down instead.  When I downloaded the pictures later, I planned to delete the 7 or so test shots I took, but when I flipped through them, this one was so beautiful to me. It’s not the first time a picture I took on accident became a favorite.Child Photography, Cedar Park, Cedar Park Child Photography

Old Becomes New

This was another day of pictures that wasn’t planned.  When I was getting her dressed in the morning, I pulled a white linen Old Navy dress with pink embroidered flowers out that had never been worn.  I had bought it 2nd hand for a few dollars, probably 7 years before. For some reason my older daughter never wore it, and had I not been so behind on doing laundry, my youngest probably would have never worn it either.  But the closet was sparse that morning and the dress  was calling my name.  I also grabbed a white flower headband that she wore a bunch as an infant.  I didn’t think she’d leave it on, but remarkably she didn’t seem to mess with it.  She looked darling, which made me want to take a few pictures.

So we headed out to a park near our house and I followed her around a bit while she explored the stream, ponds and paths.  These were my favorites of the day:May 2014 - BC Park Elin 151May 2014 - BC Park Elin 126 May 2014 - BC Park Elin 163These shoes are also hand me downs from her big sister. May 2014 - BC Park Elin 165 I love her eyelashes when she looks down like this.May 2014 - BC Park Elin 175This picture is so metaphoric to me about taking the road less traveled. That’s the beauty of toddlers, they aren’t concerned about what they are supposed to, only what seems interesting.May 2014 - BC Park Elin 226

Pig Tails

There was no reason whatsoever for us to take pictures this day.  I found the pink dress in the back of her closet, it was something I had bought on a clearance rack at Target before she was even born and had forgotten about it until that morning. Plus, I had managed to get her hair into pigtails, which was no small feat.  So when we headed out the door for a walk that morning in a new dress and pigtails, I grabbed my camera on the way.  I love going for walks with her.  We never get far, but I love how she stops to inspect everything and something like her hand in the sunlight can mesmerize her.May 2014 - Elin 150 May 2014 - Elin 153 May 2014 - Elin 172 May 2014 - Elin 219 May 2014 - Elin 238 May 2014 - Elin 246May 2014 - Elin 175

Bluebonnets 2014

Bluebonnets were tough this year.  The patch behind our house was a little sparse and our weekends were jam packed in March.  I was running out of time, so I finally took the kiddos out for pictures one day after school.  It was way too bright and 3:30 is a pretty miserable time for my youngest, but I didn’t want to risk not getting a our traditional picture this year. So here was our bluebonnet shot of 2014.  April 2014 - Crawfish Boil & Bluebonnets 047But since they were already dressed and ready for pictures, we decided to move to better lighting and at least get a nice spring time picture, even if it was missing the Bluebonnets. April 2014 - Crawfish Boil & Bluebonnets 155
